Robotic Resonance (RR) is a site specific, data-driven kinetic sound installation that features a piano harp (the metal frame and strings of a Spinet piano), two robotic arms with attached string activating rotary motors, and interactive computer control. The computer-controlled robot arms activate the harp strings, and set into motion an evolving soundscape of shifting string harmonics.

RR will be exhibited as a kinetic sound sculpture in accessible sites, and will focus on interactive public engagement. At the heart of this project is a desire to accentuate and share the pure creative potential of combining fine arts with technologies. In that spirit, RR aims to provide a powerful human experience, while also seeking to provide artists a view of technology as a near-sentient collaborator.
